Camps at Whitewater - Whitewater Center

Make an adventure this summer, and now all year. Whitewater camps pair play and learning, all in the great outdoors.

The variety of camps are specially designed to instill a love for the outdoors in kids ages 4 to 18.

Day Sessions are offered throughout the year with dates over select holidays and teacher work days. Weekly camps are offered during spring breaks in April and over the summer.

Experience Day Sessions at Whitewater and build your child’s love for the outdoors. This program brings the same activities from summers week-long Adventure Camp and packs them into a single day. These camps are scheduled to overlap with popular holidays and teacher workdays.

Adventure doesn’t have to wait until summer. Whitewater’s Spring Break Camp brings the fun of summer camp to April. Programming will mirror Adventure Camp and Tiny Trekkers.

Our adventure-based camps bring everything your child loves about going to camp into one action-packed week. Campers will have access to all age-appropriate pass activities at the Whitewater Center, plus some special programs just for campers.

Foster your child’s love for the outdoors with Whitewater’s most popular camp. Adventure Camp serves up everything Whitewater has to offer including whitewater rafting, ziplining, and ropes courses along with traditional camp activities like field games.

Early Discoveries

New this year: This camp serves as an introduction to camps at the Whitewater Center and specifically tuned for first time explorers. This camp blends introductory outdoor activities with crafts and STEAM based educational programs for first time explorers.

Tiny Trekkers

For ages 4-7

Our popular Adventure Camp scaled down for younger explorers ages 4-7. Campers will experience adventure activities like ropes courses and ziplines as well as more traditional camp programming.

Dive Deeper into Specialty Camps

Our STEAM or Survival camps allow your child to further explore their favorite curiosities. In addition to educational experiences, campers will also participate in a variety of pass activities throughout the week.

For ages 10-12

Experience life in the woods with Survival Camp. Campers will build backcountry survival skills such as shelter construction, wilderness first aid, fire building and more. The adventure culminates with an overnight camp experience, where campers can put some of their new skills to the test.

STEAM Camp brings Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math into the camping equation. With programming like Zipline Engineering, Hydrology, and Build Your Own Boat – in addition to a variety of Whitewater Pass Activities – campers will be active in both mind and body during STEAM Camp.

Build a Skillset with Instructional Camps

Instructional Camps offer tailored instruction in your child’s favorite outdoor sports. Instructors will meet campers where they are and encourage them to push their boundaries.

Experience the “big three” with Rock, Ride and Paddle Camp. This is perfect for campers who have an affinity for all outdoor recreational sports, giving them an opportunity to test the waters and discover their passions.

Kayak Camps - Intro

As an introduction to Whitewater Kayaking, campers will learn the basics of whitewater kayaking.

Kayak Camp is offered at three different experience levels, so whether campers want to learn basic skills or they’re ready to navigate Class III whitewater rapids, they’ll find a safe and approachable learning environment at Kayak Camp.

An intermediate level of camp for kayakers looking to take the next step in their paddling progression and improve upon baseline paddling skills.

Will campers need to purchase an annual or day pass?

No, campers will not need to purchase any annual or day passes to participate in summer camps.

Will campers need to have any prior experience in any of the activities/programming?

No, our instructors will meet campers where they are, whether the camper is a total beginner or has high experience in the activities.

Will campers be forced to participate in every activity?

No, your child will not be forced to participate in any activity. Whitewater follows the “Challenge by Choice” principle. Campers will be strongly encouraged to try all activities, but the level of participation will be decided solely by the camper.

What is the staff to camper ratio?

The ratio varies depending on the camp:

For Adventure and STEAM camp, the staff to camper ratio is 1:10.
For Tiny Trekkers camp, the staff to camper ratio is 1:6 for the 4-5 year old age group and 1:8 for the 6-7 year old age group.
For Survival camp, the staff to camper ratio is 1:8. <be>
