Start your Fourth of July holiday with running, biking, and more running on the Whitewater Center trail system. Duathletes are welcome to compete solo or form teams of two or three participants to complete all three 5K legs.

Slow Bike World Championships

Bike as slow as humanly possible in order to take the title in this short distance race. Don’t mistake speed for a lack of technique and endurance; should your foot hit the ground or a single pedal spin backwards at any point, it’s an automatic disqualification. The last person to cross the finish line is the winner.

Kids Bike Cap Coloring Station

Stop by the Giordana Tent in Vendor Village for a DIY bike cap coloring station. Decorate your very own bike cap and ride away in style.

Group Road Ride

Explore beyond the Whitewater Center, taking on 31 miles on rural backroads in and around Gaston County. Along the ride, cyclists will charge up Spencer Mountain and knock out a total of 400+ meters in elevation gain. Riders will be split into two groups, A and B, this ride is open to all skill levels. This is a drop ride, helmets are mandatory.

Drive Train Maintenance

Join industry leading professionals from Shimano in this introductory drivetrain clinic. The Shimano team will review how to properly clean and tune your drivetrain and how to troubleshoot the most common drivetrain problems.

Come out and learn from Red Bull athlete and Trial Biking World Champion Kenny Belaey. Kenny will teach rider’s the basic skills needed to progress forward in trial biking while also working with more experienced biker’s on developing their skill and finding creative spaces to demonstrate their abilities.

MTB Suspension 101

Checking and adjusting your bikes suspension it just as necessary as checking your bikes tire pressure, brakes, and derailleurs before a ride. In this clinic, join the Velofix team as they review how to make the most of your suspension fork and rear shock by setting up your preload, rebound, and compression settings for your specific bike.

Group Ride and Q&A with Kenny Belaey

Join Red Bull athlete and trials world champion Kenny Belaey out on the trails. Kenny will lead riders on an hour-long MTB ride while incorporating his trial skills out on the trails. After the ride, Kenny will be hosting a Q&A to talk to other rides about his training program, his world championship experiences, and the mentality behind accomplishing some of his greatest feats such as riding across a 18m slackline 112m above the ground.
